On January 30th, SVP Charlotte hosted an in depth panel and discussion on the Opioid Crisis at WeWork RailYard.  Our panelists included:

• Andrea Anders, JD, domestic law attorney with over 25 years’ experience, Attorney Advocate for Cabarrus County’s Guardian Ad Litem program, and Associate Attorney for Adkins and Carter, PA in Salisbury, NC
• Dr. Bruce Darden, SVP Partner, Spine Surgeon, OrthoCarolina, and Chair, Research Advisory Committee, OrthoCarolina Research Institute
• Brent Foushee, Adjunct Lecturer Department of Criminal Justice at UNC Charlotte and Retired Police Officer, CMPD Vice and Narcotics Unit

Our panelists provided in depth knowledge on how the crisis began, the staggering effects on our social and foster care systems, and how the medical community in Charlotte is creating pain management best practices to minimize the need for opioid use.
