We connect individuals who want to make a difference with innovative nonprofits that are tackling our region’s most pressing challenges. Through a unique model of giving, learning, and volunteering, our Partners are donor volunteers who invest not just financial resources, but also time, talent, and expertise to build a stronger, more equitable Charlotte.

History of Social Venture Partners Charlotte

Social Venture Partners Charlotte was founded in May 2005 by a group of friends inspired by the concept of venture philanthropy—applying venture capital principles to nonprofit support. Rather than simply donating money, these founding Partners wanted to offer their time, expertise, and strategic guidance to help nonprofits scale their impact.
