I moved to Charlotte in 1993 after graduating from college, and aside from leaving for 2 years to return to business school, I’ve lived in Charlotte my entire adult life. My husband Will and I met and married here, and now our youngest of 3 children is in her first year of college. Over the years we’ve been involved with numerous local non-profits, including many that support individuals with special needs (most notably Speed for Need, which Will co-founded in 2017).
My first job in Charlotte involved structuring and approving corporate bank loans for small businesses, and I learned quickly how vital it is for organizations to have a strong management team. Since then I’ve worked across numerous industries and functions and for companies ranging in size from start-ups to Fortune 100. I’ve recently retired from Partners in Performance, a small management consulting firm based in Australia, where I worked almost exclusively with international clients and partners. I’m excited now to have time to engage more heavily with local organizations. I’ve always been passionate about building internal capabilities, knowledge, and processes to promote sustainable results, so SVP’s model of partnership and collaboration is a great match.
