David and Manisha are recent transplants to Charlotte as of early 2021, though Manisha will insist that she is a southerner at heart, having spent her formative years in Greenwood, SC.David is a native of Clifton, NJ. They met almost 30 years ago in Indianapolis, IN, where they both worked, but neither considered home. In Indianapolis, they both worked at a major pharmaceutical company, where David was a senior research scientist working on neurological diseases, and Manisha was a patent attorney working on US and international patent litigation.
David’s retirement in 2018 coincided nicely with Manisha being recruited by a pharmaceutical company in Belgium. Living in Brussels was a great adventure until the pandemic changed priorities, prompting them to move to Charlotte to be closer to family. David and Manisha have been long-time supporters to various international organizations, including UNICEF USA, for which Manisha served on the board of the Midwest Regional Community. Joining SVP Charlotte has given them the ability to learn more about and contribute to the local community while also making new friendships. They both joined SVP Charlotte as Partners in December of 2022.
David is keeping busy with consulting for a startup pharma company, and Manisha serves on the board of the Mecklenburg Audubon Society, and occasionally provides intellectual property training and mentorship to students in Cameroon. In their free time, David and Manisha enjoy birdwatching, seeking out interesting live music and other cultural events, and reading.
