While navigating the complexity of multiple roles, Matt thrives on the energy of being actively involved.
With a wealth of experience, Matt actively contributes to running a successful wealth management practice at Merrill Lynch. His clientele includes senior executives, business owners, and nonprofit institutions, where the team specializes in tax minimization, retirement planning, trust & estate planning, philanthropic planning, and portfolio management. Before joining Merrill Lynch, Matt led a dynamic team at Wells Fargo, overseeing private family foundations, nonprofit endowments, and charitable trusts.
In his personal life, Matt is happily married to his high school sweetheart, Janee, and takes pride in being a dedicated parent to two wonderful children, Theoand Emilia. Theo, currently in 1st grade, explores his interests in chess, piano, and the joys of playing Mario on Matt’s old Nintendo. Emilia, in pre-school, cherishes family time and occasionally adds a touch of mischief.
Beyond his professional endeavors, Matt extends his passion for community service by actively volunteering with The Bridge Foundation, a college scholarship organization in Charlotte. His commitment to making a difference is further highlighted by his past service on boards and committees for notable organizations such as The Arts and Science Council, Supportive Housing Communities, The United Way of Greater Charlotte, The ARC of Mecklenburg County, and Hospitality House of Charlotte.He became a Partner with SVP Charlotte in June of 2023.
Matt holds a degree in Trust & Wealth Management from Campbell University, complemented by an MBA. In the limited free time he carves out, Matt indulges in his love for baseball (go Braves!), hockey (go Canes!), and the occasional round of golf.
