Whew! We here at SVP Charlotte headquarters often hear, “You slow down in the summer, don’t you?”. The short answer is, “well…sort of”. During those relaxing, sun filled days, the SVP staff and Partnership do slow down a bit to spend time with family and vacation, but we also use this time to strategically plan for fall (after all, that’s what most nonprofits do, right?).
So…once back from vacation, and my kids set up in 92 different summer camps, I joined the team in looking toward fall. This summer comprised of: Issue Committee and SEED20 alumni meetings, a ‘deep dive’ look at our signature SEED20 program, a new SVP Partner meet and greet, some warm nights at our Summer Sips with SVP events, and much more. We are actively listening to the needs of our Investees, engaging our Partners in meaningful meetings, events and volunteer opportunities, are ready to begin the fall 2017 season!
I leave you with this…Who’s ready for school to start back?! Err, I mean, September fun at SVP! I encourage you, as you think about what your fall looks like, to reach out to SVP staff or an existing Partner for ways to get plugged in to an amazing fall in venture philanthropy!
Best, Heather
