They have worked hard all summer and are gearing up for fall. They are ready, are you? We took some time to chat with the leaders of a couple of our Investees to find out what needs they have and learn a little more about their plans for fall!
As we seek to give back to Charlotte through SVP, it is a real gift to be exposed to the diverse people who make up our city. We are very privileged to be in positions that craft policy that affects these people. Exposure does wonderful things for us as it puts a face to a to a formerly nameless group of people. Perhaps more importantly, exposure causes us to walk away changed, enriched by the experience and strengthened in our resolve to help, as we ourselves have been helped.

Whenever new Partners join SVP, we’re eager to share the story of why they’ve chosen to participate in our unique model of engaged and strategic philanthropy. Sure, we think it’s pretty swell: who wouldn’t be drawn to deep, committed work with local nonprofits tackling the most critical issues in their communities? Yet every time we ask, we learn something new about how and why SVP intrigues new community members. That’s why we highlight new Partners: to learn about their backgrounds and previous commitments: their lives before SVP, where they want to go from here, and what role they see us playing in their bright vision of the future.
